Well last Wednesday (5th) we were starting to see some patches of grass, and we were hopeful that moving house wasnt
gone to be complicated by snow drifts. Then they said there was a winter storm coming and we got 51cms dropped on
us over two days! It is officially the second snowiest winter on record and may well break the record
(currently 444cms in 1970/71) by the end of the month.
The difference from England is quite striking, rather than the threat of snow bringing everything to a stop,
here 51cms has slowed things down a little! On friday they were saying on the radio that people were preparing
for the storm buying up extra supplies, but unlike England where the threat of 'weather' causes panic buying and chaos,
here it was a case of the store managers calling in extra staff to make sure everything ran properly.
