Back in August (which seems an age ago now) Heidi’s keen eye spotted a “Free Firewood” advertisement on Used Ottawa. Knowing that we were going to be short on wood this year I called.

Wood is good

Off on our 4th wood cutting session. This should be fairly straight forward as the majority of the work has already been done. We are looking at finishing cutting up the remainder of the felled trees from our previous visit, transporting this to the respective wood piles and finally cutting the logs into splittable sizes. Woodcutting Again

This was originally supposed to be a full weekend of cutting, hauling, moving, and stacking. It didn’t quite work out like that; as emergency fencing originally scheduled for the weekend after had to be brought forward.

A day in the woods

Something new for us this year is a requirement for wood. Tom, has an ongoing deal with a chap in Quebec cut & split, take half. A pretty good deal. So this year it’s off to Quebec for few days – cutting, throwing & stacking wood.
