Willow needs you!

January 13th, 2010 by Heidi

You may have noticed that it has been a long time since I have written a post about any foster cats or dogs, it isn’t that we have stopped fostering, we currently have 7 cats and 1 dog for Cat Rescue Network and a cat for Bullies in Need staying here. No I didn’t mis-type we really are fostering a cat for a dog rescue and a dog for a cat rescue!

Everything’s all-white!

December 8th, 2009 by Heidi

I know you have gotten used to a nice foodie post on a Tuesday, and as much as I would like to be participating in the carnivals, everything going on in the kitchen at the moment is top secret! I really wasn’t sure what I was going to write about today, then I downloaded the pictures I took today and thought I should share them with you.

Empty harness …

November 4th, 2008 by Heidi

Yesterday after I wrote ‘Dog days on winter’ I went out to check on the Thorn and everyone else, I found the harness on the floor in the barn empty. He was in a harness because she said he slipped collars. I found him out in the paddock, slinking down the fence line. He got down to the corner lay down and stayed there. Thats where he spent the rest of the day, and night and still is this morning.

Dog days of winter

November 3rd, 2008 by Heidi

Unfortunately I am not talking about the weather; right now the world revolves around dogs. Today’s post was supposed to be a joyful announcement of the latest addition to our family and workforce, Thorn. Well yesterday we collected Thorn, but he was far from the dog we expected.

Ol’ man winter Arrived!

October 30th, 2008 by Heidi

It seems that after a summer that never really got going, Ol’ man Winter wasn’t waiting for us to have Fall either! The first snow of this winter season arrived yesterday along with the first winter storm warning. It started snowing in the afternoon and just kept going, just before 10pm our power flickered off and on 3 or 4 times and then stayed off. Steve called the power company, but with a 36 minute hold time, he hung up.

October 1st, 2008 by Heidi

Seriously, how is it October? I really dont know what has happened to this year, five minutes ago we were moving into our new house! If anyone can tell me what happened to the summer I would be very grateful! Although I am not sure it was much of a summer here or in the UK from the sounds of things.

The point of today’s post is really just updates.

Meeting the chickens

June 17th, 2008 by Heidi

Willow is growing fast and settling in well. She has been having supervised meetings with the Chickens, and learning that she needs to leave the tail feathers alone.

We did have an incident where the door to the stall next door to the chickens was not closed properly. She dug, and two chickens got under. One was found having escaped to a third stall. The other we found lying limp on the floor of the barn. Fortunately after a week in a box in the house the chicken was fine. It seems that really very little actual harm had been done.
