Pancake day!

Happy Groundhog day

Some people think of February 2 as Imbolc, some as Candlemas, some as Groundhog day. It is one of the four cross-quarters on the solar calendar, occurring half way between the Winter Solstice and the Spring Equinox, and it is traditionally a time of weather prognostication, and the old tradition of watching to see if serpents or badgers came from their winter dens is perhaps a precursor to the North American Groundhog Day.

Thinking warm thoughts

Now I love the winter, don’t get me wrong, I love the snow and am quite happy to chase Zeus through snow drifts and make snow angels. Today the sun is out, there isn’t a cloud in the sky and it all looks so beautiful, you just can’t help but want to go out and play. But, of course there is always a but!
