A delightfully fruity day!

As I might have mentioned before I love fruit trees and for my birthday Steve got me a lovely Meyer lemon tree from the Green Barn Nursery. Well yesterday we went on an adventure to Montreal and returned with amongst other things 6 fruit trees!

Gifts that keep on giving!

We have made a lot of changes over the last few years for a number of reasons, many because of the change of lifestyle required by our decision for me to stay home and mind the farm. Many because of our desire to lessen our ‘footprint’ on the world. And of course you can’t discount the difference emigrating makes!

Tree Pruning

Tree pruning is something we knew we needed to understand. Last year our apples trees flowered and produced some fruit. Unfortunately, none of the fruit was that big and the fruit was done, and on the ground early in the year and not when we expected – the fall.
