Cuckoo’s nest road!

June 20th, 2010 by Heidi

It was quite the weekend and right now our house looks rather like a furniture shop exploded and was then attacked by a giant shedding ball of fur! But luckily for us we have friends. The weekend was supposed to be all about moving furniture, Steve hired a U-Haul truck, found some volunteers and set about moving all the remaining large things from old house to new.

Oven, Friends, Duck!

December 1st, 2009 by Heidi

As I mentioned in last Tuesday’s post, the element in our oven put on a grand finale light show and then bowed out. I posted a distressed status update on Facebook and then went to concentrate on the long list of chores needing to be done. By lunchtime some very good friends had contacted us to say they had a spare and would like us to have it as an early Christmas present!

Today has been a rather long (I will explain in tomorrows post) but pretty exciting and very good day. Since we moved to Canada we have met some very cool people and made some very good friends. There are some people you meet who are kind, generous and just ‘good people’, Bill is one of them and he came to visit us today!

Happy New Year

January 2nd, 2009 by Heidi

First things first, we would like to wish everyone a very happy, healthy and prosperous New Year!

2008 was quite a year – well for us anyway! It probably ranks as the most life changing year, alongside 2006 when we emigrated! We started 2008 grieving and hoping for better things in the new year. The end of 2007 had seen the loss of my Grandpa, my job and in the very last days of the year, the very sudden loss of our kitten Chaz. I don’t think we could ever have imagined how much 2008 had in store for us!
