I have a hard time giving myself time off, as if I am sitting still then I am generally worrying about what I should be doing, and feeling guilty about it. This week has been a prime example of that – I haven’t given myself a proper day off but also haven’t really managed to achieve anything! Where did it go?January 31st, 2010 by HeidiWhere did January go? I am really not sure how it is already the last day in January. Now don’t get me wrong, the closer we get to Spring the more excited I get thinking about the lambs and my vegetable garden. But with the speed at which this month passed I am not going to be ready! Sunday roundupJanuary 24th, 2010 by HeidiIt has been a busy week with lots of cat & dog activity; time spent with friends old and new; chores, cooking, fibre arts, etc etc …. Sunday roundupJanuary 17th, 2010 by HeidiIt struck me that it might be a good idea to have a weekly round up post on a Sunday, some days there are simply too many things to write about, and sometimes the things I want to share don’t need a post all to themselves. These things aren’t less important than the normal posts, in fact some of todays is more important than the ‘regular scheduled programming’, it’s just that during the week I have a task list I work to even if sometimes the world rearranges my plans! 2009December 31st, 2009 by HeidiIt has been quite a year for us, it has been our first full year here on our little farm. Not so secret rendezvous!August 7th, 2009 by HeidiToday I met a very handsome young man! Affectionate felines seeking laps!July 28th, 2009 by HeidiWhile the moving on of Charlie, Sammy, Willow and Willomena reduced our numbers it did not leave us without any foster cats. But with our planned trip in September we are trying to reduce the number of felines in our house to just our permanent residents, as that is already a lot to ask of any cat sitter! A day on the farmApril 23rd, 2009 by HeidiIsn’t Spring supposed to be about joy and new life! Well we are not having a good week, and today has been especially difficult. This post should probably come with a warning, it is an honest account of the harder side of farming, rescue & life. It’s Raining CatsMarch 22nd, 2009 by HeidiThere has been a lot going on with the felines around here, and as I started writing this I realised that I hadn’t kept you posted on our barn cat visitors, so I should probably start there, before I introduce the new arrivals! Giant leaps in George’s PlaceMarch 2nd, 2009 by HeidiThis will be a very short post, and sadly lacking pictures, as I need to shut off my computer and relax for a bit before bed, but I really wanted to share with you the giant leaps in progress made in George’s Place today. Cats from the barnFebruary 26th, 2009 by HeidiAs you may have read last Saturday we went out to a barn with Cat Rescue Network and came home with six cats! The two kittens were only making a pit stop and were collected on Sunday to move on to their ‘real’ foster home. I didn’t get a chance to take any pictures of them, so I am hoping their fosterer will take pity on me! |
