I know you have gotten used to a nice foodie post on a Tuesday, and as much as I would like to be participating in the carnivals, everything going on in the kitchen at the moment is top secret! I really wasn’t sure what I was going to write about today, then I downloaded the pictures I took today and thought I should share them with you.

A different dogJune 12th, 2009 by HeidiAspen is now living permanently out with Willow and they couldn’t be happier about the new arrangements. Drowning in vets billsMay 7th, 2009 by HeidiSo our rather traumatic April left us with some rather unexpected vets bills and today we carried on in the same theme. Aspen updateMarch 24th, 2009 by HeidiI am always being asked how Aspen is doing and a proper update is long over due. It has just been so busy around here lately! He is doing well. The progress is slow so there isn’t often anything to ‘write home about’, but it is progress. Aspen has been getting better with me, but is still terribly afraid of Steve, to the point that if Steve tries to get him out of his crate or put a leash on him he pees. A quail in the hand ….January 12th, 2009 by HeidiWe had quite a busy Sunday, we began the research for what will hopefully be our next big exciting venture on the homestead, with a visit to another farm and a long chat with some very nice and helpful people! We also may, we hope, have found a new ‘partner’ for another smaller, but no less exciting venture. I am afraid though that in the interests of not ‘jinxing’ anything – thats all I am prepared to say! You will just have to keep checking in to see what we are up to! Population fluctuation & Aspen sightingsNovember 29th, 2008 by HeidiWhat an eventful day, since we got up this morning we have moved 102 bales of hay, reduced the chicken population by 5 roosters, won a race for a cat climber for George’s place and had two separate sightings of Aspen! A quick postNovember 22nd, 2008 by HeidiLate this afternoon we got a phone call, someone had seen Aspen. We raced over and spoke to the people, they said they had seen him running across their field. We followed a side road and came to another farm with a very nice man who said that we were welcome to wander around his fields as they loved their dogs too. It was -7 and I dread to think what that worked out to with the wind chill; between that and the new moon giving us nothing to see by, we called it a night, but you know we will be out there first thing tomorrow. |
