A new job!

I have re-joined the ranks of the properly employed! That is I am employed by someone else, and it is perfect. It is a work-from-home part-time web development job. So I can do what I enjoy and earn some extra pennies, without having to worry about travel, or leaving the sheep or dogs home alone all day.

An apple a day!

In the fall we bought quite a few pounds of apples from a local orchard, and what is really fabulous is that we are still enjoying them. I had no idea that things likes apples, potatoes, onions and squash could be kept for so long, fresh.

Applesauce Granola

Apple Cauliflower Soup

We did manage to pop to the shops on the weekend, we had to, we needed cat food. While we were there we of course checked the reduced shelves, and found a couple of cauliflowers, one regular one orange. Which was fortunate in more than one way as it turns out that little Miss Lynn is rather fond of cauliflower leaves!

Cottage Pie

We wanted to make a shepherd’s pie but the lamb that went into our freezer wasn’t very big so we don’t have a great deal of meat, and not really any that we would want to grind into mince. But we do still have a fair bit of the grass fed beef we bought last year, so we decided to compromise and have cottage pie.
