It has been quite a week with kittens, coffee, court, doctors, barrels, ice carving, snow sculptures, an owl, Olympics & Olympic knitting! Some of them will require a post all of their own, which will be coming up in the next week, but for now here is a quick taster. Apple Cauliflower SoupFebruary 9th, 2010 by HeidiWe did manage to pop to the shops on the weekend, we had to, we needed cat food. While we were there we of course checked the reduced shelves, and found a couple of cauliflowers, one regular one orange. Which was fortunate in more than one way as it turns out that little Miss Lynn is rather fond of cauliflower leaves! Not a super week!February 7th, 2010 by HeidiI have been rather under par this week which has meant not many things being checked off on the task list. I have a hard time giving myself time off, as if I am sitting still then I am generally worrying about what I should be doing, and feeling guilty about it. This week has been a prime example of that – I haven’t given myself a proper day off but also haven’t really managed to achieve anything! Cottage PieFebruary 2nd, 2010 by HeidiWe wanted to make a shepherd’s pie but the lamb that went into our freezer wasn’t very big so we don’t have a great deal of meat, and not really any that we would want to grind into mince. But we do still have a fair bit of the grass fed beef we bought last year, so we decided to compromise and have cottage pie. Where did it go?January 31st, 2010 by HeidiWhere did January go? I am really not sure how it is already the last day in January. Now don’t get me wrong, the closer we get to Spring the more excited I get thinking about the lambs and my vegetable garden. But with the speed at which this month passed I am not going to be ready! |
