This morning we took all eight puppies into for their first vet visit. They were all very brave and passed with flying colours. As they were 8 weeks old on Monday they are ready to move on to new homes.

If anyone is in need of a livestock guardian dog ….

Maremma puppies

They have grown up with Shetland sheep, chickens and ducks. Their parents are both working dogs, who would quite like to meet you before you abscond with their offspring!

We believe in having well socialized guardians, too many people pass through here or like the hydro woman think they can wander around our back yard. We don’t want to risk our dogs getting in trouble for doing their jobs. We are happy for them to protect us from four-legged intruders and at that they are superb.

They are $450 each. There are 4 girls and 4 boys, I am keeping a boy and I hope that another boy and girl are spoken for. We are interested in trade. We will only let them go into appropriate situations, these are not city dogs. They have had their first shots and been wormed.

In keeping with today’s puppy theme tonight is Baylea’s first ‘day of school’!

  2. They are adorable! We have a Great Pyrenees but no farm. Not so sure he would have made a good LGD but he makes a wonderful companion! :)
