I spotted an ad on UsedOttawa the other day (no Steve hasn’t blocked the site yet!) and when I showed it to Steve he thought it was a great idea! So we have now added ….

…. Columbian Wyandottes to our flock!

Columbian Wyandotte Rooster Columbian Wyandotte hens

They were born on April 25th and are already quite a bit bigger than our Chanteclers. When we picked them up we met a full grown rooster and he was quite the large, handsome bird, who will apparently protect his hens from coyotes!

They are a dual-purpose bird, and the seller told us that they are good hardy birds, that lay well and dress out at a good size at 16 weeks.

These are part of the ‘experiments’ we are planning to find the perfect (for us) chicken!

I love to know what you think so please rate my post or leave me a comment. If you really liked this post maybe you would consider sharing it. Thank you.
