I haven’t talked much about the little family, that arrived back in June, to spend the summer here with us, and now they have gone!

Cora and her kittens arrived when the kittens were only a few days old, and this weekend they moved on to new homes. For now they are living with a friend of ours, but it is just a short stop before they move on to forever homes, where they will be loved and spoilt.

Cora, Touloula & Harry

There were differing opinions on the kittens’ names, Steve decided on Harry for the little boy, which suited him well. Ginnie (short for Orangina) was the first name proposed for the little girl, but she soon showed me that she could do the puff-up “pfitz pfitz pfitz I’m an alley cat” ala Toulouse from the Aristocats, so she became Touloula.

Harry Touloula

With my particular soft spot for ‘orange’ it was always going to be hard to give them up, and as time drew nearer Touloula started curling up with me more often. But we have a friend whose need is greater and so not to be greedy, we parted with them all.

Trouble!

I am trying to focus on the fact that the little hooligans liked to help me spin! And all our older cats are much happier now that protective-mum-Cora has moved out! Ollie has been giving me extra cuddles to remind me that I have all the ‘orange’ a person could need!

I love to know what you think so please rate my post or leave me a comment. If you really liked this post maybe you would consider sharing it. Thank you.

  1. Somehow, you failed to mention their fibre apprenticeships. They also like to help weave. “But, Auntie ‘Lizbeth, it’s a free service we offer, why wouldn’t you want our help?” “Hmm, maybe because you are going to get your whiskers woven into the blanket?” Puzzle is NOT AMUSED (“doz kittens is be LOOKING at ME!”) Ash is making good use of his “fierce face” (learnt from Merlin). Rags loves the kittens, they aren’t quite so keen on her! Cora seems quite content and is trying to make friends with A&P; with Rags, not so much. The kittens’ potential forever family thinks they are very sweet, when they can move there depends on the health of the older cat already in residence. Now to keep the kids from getting attached…
