A new job!

I have re-joined the ranks of the properly employed! That is I am employed by someone else, and it is perfect. It is a work-from-home part-time web development job. So I can do what I enjoy and earn some extra pennies, without having to worry about travel, or leaving the sheep or dogs home alone all day.

What is even better is that I feel really passionately about the subject matter. I will be developing the website for a new butcher shop that is opening soon in Manotick. Now given my feelings on meat you may be wondering how that works. Well, the Manotick Village Butcher will not be selling the kind of meat you find in the average store.

The Manotick Village Butcher will be selling meat from animals raised locally and treated with respect. In fact Respect is a key word; Respect for the animals, Respect for the farmer, Respect for the employees and Respect for the consumer.

I often feel quite despondent about my inability to make a difference. That in the greater scheme of things my refusal to participate in the abuse of living creatures does not effect any change. Being part of this new enterprise makes me feel like I am doing my part in transforming the way people think about their food.

To have been able to find a web development job that is part-time and work-from-home is pretty incredible. But that I also care passionately about the subject matter and have a boss who cooks me steak! Well really does it get any better?

You can be certain that you will be hearing more about the Manotick Village Butcher, and as soon as I know the date of the Grand Opening I will be sure to let you know.

I love to know what you think so please rate my post or leave me a comment. If you really liked this post maybe you would consider sharing it. Thank you.
