Living on a single salary has really taken some getting used to and I don’t know I can say for certain that we really have yet. We are still sure of our decision for me to stay home and mind the farm, but we really need to get the farm to start contributing to rather than draining finances.

The sheep in particular need to start contributing to their upkeep. As I mentioned a while back we have been busy getting the 2009 fleeces skirted and washed and can now say that they are finished and ready for sale.

We have whites, greys, blacks and browns; single coated, double coated and all different lengths.

If you are local you are more than welcome to pop out for a visit, then you can make a ‘hands-on’ decision and even meet the original ‘owner’!

Washed fleece is $1.25 per ounce* or $18 per pound* from the same fleece.

I can card small amounts into roving if desired, which would be $2.50 per ounce*.

* not including postage & packaging

Washed fleece - KalwaTaure Olivia Washed fleece - Windwater Snap Dragon
Washed fleece - Windwater Arya Washed fleece - Hopeful Maria Carded roving - Hopeful Maria

The website and blog are our main means of marketing our farm and have recently started to prove themselves useful in this respect, having led to the sale of duck, sheep, finding of a new home for Spirit, and hopefully selling these fleeces.

A big part of having a successful blog is in attracting readers, and I am always looking for new ways to do this. Recently I discovered a new community called SeededBuzz which is a bloggers marketing cooperative! As they are just getting started they are offering free memberships, if you would like to get involved you can sign up using my invite code: flickerslair.

I love to know what you think so please rate my post or leave me a comment. If you really liked this post maybe you would consider sharing it. Thank you.
