Where did it go?

Where did January go? I am really not sure how it is already the last day in January. Now don’t get me wrong, the closer we get to Spring the more excited I get thinking about the lambs and my vegetable garden. But with the speed at which this month passed I am not going to be ready!

We have been working hard on the fleeces this week and they are now all skirted and all bar two are washed. I will be working on descriptions and getting them listed on here, but if you are one of the people interested in perhaps purchasing a fleece or two, you are more than welcome to come out for a visit and fleece ‘fondling’ session! You can even meet the original ‘owners’!

This week again saw activity on the fostering front; we took Bob into the vets office for a weigh-in and he has already lost 7 lbs! Still that makes him a pretty hefty 111 lbs so we still have a ways to go. If you would like to support Bob in his efforts he is having a Bob’s Biggest Loser Challenge to help raise funds to cover his vets bills.

Last weekend we had had a couple of people come out to meet Snowball and her kittens, and this week Snowball moved on to her new fur-ever home! Her kittens also left us, with two going to their new family and I think the other two are headed to the pet store that helps Cat Rescue Network find homes.

“Thought I’d pass on a compliment. The people who visited you and decided to adopt 2 kittens said they decided on the second after meeting you and Steve and seeing how much you did for the animals. Kittens Frankie and Mini say thank you.” ~ Louise at Cat Rescue Network

I have been very busy with trying to get the garden plan finished, yes I know I started back in November (Winter garden & garden planning) but then the fibre arts took over! After a concerted effort this weekend I have finally managed to get the seed orders placed.

Now I just need to plan the layout, which with all the crop rotation and companion planting is pretty complicated. Fortunately the GrowVeg tool makes it less scary!

Sadly our winter garden has not been terribly successful this year, we have not harvested anything, but never mind at least it gives me fodder for the monthly Garden Bloggers Death day! These seedlings got ‘lost’ in a corner and forgotten!

How was your week?

  3. It makes me so happy to read that you were able to get both mama and babies to good homes, or on thier way there. What a gentle, loving thing you’re doing!
