We hope you wont quail from this evening’s blog post!

A box of two day old coturnix quail chicks

This evening we brought home a box full of two day old coturnix quail chicks.

A quail in the hand!

If a quail in the hand is worth two in the bush, what are 21 baby quail in a pen worth?

A pair of two day old coturnix quail chicks

Cute, eh? They should be laying in 8 weeks, at which point we hope to be adding quail eggs to our product list.

I bet you are wondering what the title has to do with this post! Well, when we got back from collecting our newest, smallest, cutest additions we discovered that some of the corn I had very carefully started in pots and transplanted on the weekend, that yesterday we were admiring the growth of, had vanished. Not only that but there had been wanton vandalism perpetrated on some of the squash seedlings, which had been ripped up and thrown down! We are certain it is the actions of the geese who will now be leaving, by whatever means necessary!

I love to know what you think so please rate my post or leave me a comment. If you really liked this post maybe you would consider sharing it. Thank you.
