More sad news from Shauna, Song very sadly died of a retained membrane, leaving her little ewe lamb needing bottle feeding.

She has been having supervised meetings with the Chickens, and learning that she needs to leave the tail feathers alone. We did have an incident where the door to the stall next door to the chickens was not closed properly. She dug, and two chickens got under. One was found having escaped to a third stall. The other we found lying limp on the floor of the barn. Fortunately after a week in a box in the house the chicken was fine. It seems that really very little actual harm had been done. Our first lambsJune 8th, 2008 by HeidiWe had good news from Shauna; Maria, Peony and Song have had lambs. Maria had twin rams, both Peony and Song had a single ewe. To make up for the loss of Roberta, we needed to add another ewe to the list but I couldnt choose between Peony and Maria and managed to convince Steve we should have both! The list: Windwater Sweet Pea, Willowgarden Fava, Willowgarden Magda Gabor, Belmeadow Song, Hopeful Maria, Windwater Peony. |
