A new job!

I have re-joined the ranks of the properly employed! That is I am employed by someone else, and it is perfect. It is a work-from-home part-time web development job. So I can do what I enjoy and earn some extra pennies, without having to worry about travel, or leaving the sheep or dogs home alone all day.

Vegetable garden planning

I am excited, although a little confused by how it is March already! But still excited, the snow is receding, I can see patches of grass. The chickens and sheep are starting to set foot outside their barns. The ducks are making it all the way up the path to the house!

Feeding Time!

With Lynn getting sick we discovered that the hay this year was not nearly up to the quality of last year. Last year our sheep happily spent the winter eating nothing but hay with no ill effects. This year, not so much!

An apple a day!

In the fall we bought quite a few pounds of apples from a local orchard, and what is really fabulous is that we are still enjoying them. I had no idea that things likes apples, potatoes, onions and squash could be kept for so long, fresh.

Shetland fleeces for sale

Living on a single salary has really taken some getting used to and I don’t know I can say for certain that we really have yet. We are still sure of our decision for me to stay home and mind the farm, but we really need to get the farm to start contributing to rather than draining finances.
