Flicker’s Lair BlogMore of Steve’s Bread Baking AdventuresMarch 9th, 2010 by SteveA new job!March 8th, 2010 by HeidiI have re-joined the ranks of the properly employed! That is I am employed by someone else, and it is perfect. It is a work-from-home part-time web development job. So I can do what I enjoy and earn some extra pennies, without having to worry about travel, or leaving the sheep or dogs home alone all day. Vegetable garden planningMarch 5th, 2010 by HeidiI am excited, although a little confused by how it is March already! But still excited, the snow is receding, I can see patches of grass. The chickens and sheep are starting to set foot outside their barns. The ducks are making it all the way up the path to the house! HopefulMarch 4th, 2010 by HeidiI am hopeful! And I am looking forward to see what everyone else over on You Capture is hopeful about. Feeding Time!March 3rd, 2010 by HeidiWith Lynn getting sick we discovered that the hay this year was not nearly up to the quality of last year. Last year our sheep happily spent the winter eating nothing but hay with no ill effects. This year, not so much! Home-made, home-grown, home-bakedMarch 2nd, 2010 by HeidiAfter my rather unsuccessful last attempt at baking bread I kept meaning to get back and have another try but there never seems to be enough hours in the day. An Olympic ending!March 1st, 2010 by HeidiOn Saturday with time to spare, and having had much help from Christine I finished my Olympic knitting! With a little help from my friendsFebruary 28th, 2010 by HeidiIt has been a good week, I am having better days and I have hope. It is nearly Spring, we know this because our birds are telling us. The other day we had 7 chicken eggs and on different days found three duck eggs! Adventures of an AardvarkFebruary 25th, 2010 by HeidiOn the weeks when there is a Bloggography challenge I like to try and combine the theme for You Capture with the Bloggography subject. This week that gave me Shapes and Aperture. An apple a day!February 23rd, 2010 by HeidiIn the fall we bought quite a few pounds of apples from a local orchard, and what is really fabulous is that we are still enjoying them. I had no idea that things likes apples, potatoes, onions and squash could be kept for so long, fresh. Shetland fleeces for saleFebruary 22nd, 2010 by HeidiLiving on a single salary has really taken some getting used to and I don’t know I can say for certain that we really have yet. We are still sure of our decision for me to stay home and mind the farm, but we really need to get the farm to start contributing to rather than draining finances. Time off!February 21st, 2010 by HeidiThis week has been nice as Steve has had a few days off to help me get myself back together. It has really helped to have him here, especially with the dogs, and we have had a lot of fun running around the field with the dogs. |
